At Matsuhisa, we are certainly pleased when anyone makes our restaurant part of an evening out, whether as the starting point or the culmination of an enjoyable night on the town. 

For those who are looking to do something to help build up an appetite before fulfilling their reservation for a sushi dinner in Denver, and who want to have something to talk about over the tataki, we’d like to make a few suggestions for you.

Colorado Symphony

For those with a taste for high culture, or even a fondness for pop culture, the Colorado Symphony’s fall performance calendar this year is filled with excellent shows from a salute to Ella Fitzgerald to Mozart’s ‘‘Requiem,’’ as well as performances of music showcased in Disney films such as ‘‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’’ and ‘‘Fantasia 2000.’’

You’ll want to check for detailed information a little closer to its Nov. 3 kickoff, but Denver Arts Week has been a hit with residents and visitors alike. Numerous museums will be offering free admission after 5 p.m., and a free shuttle running between them makes it possible to pack a lot of culture into an evening.

Fall Colors

One of the most wonderful sights in fall is going into the high country to see the aspens turn from their normal green to brilliant gold, red and orange. And if you can’t quite make it back to Denver for supper, there’s always our Aspen location.

Lose Yourself

Fall is traditionally the time for harvests and harvest-related activities. One of the more enjoyable ones is navigating a corn maze. Sure, it’s not quite like going through a hedge maze, but some of them are pretty substantial. The Denver Botanic Gardens has one tailor-made for those with a casual approach to exploration and puzzle solving.

Light Up

One of the last activities of the fall before winter hits is the Grand Illumination at the State Capitol building.  If you haven’t been there before, it’s worth it to see the Capitol bathed in cheery colors as a farewell salute to the fall. It begins the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Naturally, there are plenty of other things to do in and around Downtown Denver during the fall, but whatever you decide on, we hope you’ll spend some time with Matsuhisa when you’re ready to sit down and eat.
