Nobu in Aspen

On June 2nd, 2024, in collaboration with RMC, Matsuhisa Aspen hosted a group of corporate clients for a very special event at Dunbar Ranch in Aspen, Colorado: A hands-on sushi-making experience by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa himself. With the ranch’s stunning visuals as the backdrop, Chef Nobu demonstrated his signature nigiri and handroll techniques for guests, who then had the opportunity to make their own sushi with instruction by chefs from Matsuhisa Aspen, Vail, and Denver. After some good – and not so good – attempts, the guests found their way to the lush riverbank of the Rio Grande and an extraordinary spread, complete with Chef Nobu’s world-famous dishes such as Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño, Black Cod Miso, and Miyazaki Wagyu Beef. Prior to departure, guests were able to capture the memory with a photo opportunity with Chef Nobu. And just to make sure everyone had a memento of an already unforgettable occasion, each guest found a World of Nobu cookbook with a personal note from Chef Nobu, as well as Aspen Sushi Club hats, and custom made Matsuhisa Aspen chopsticks, waiting for them in their rooms.
